How articles are researched
Editorial articles on SanatanTools are researched from primary and secondary sources: the Vedas, Puranas, Itihasas, Dharma Shastras, published almanacs (Drik Panchang, Kalnirnay, regional panchangams), peer-reviewed scholarship, and interviews with living practitioners and temple authorities.
Every article lists its author and, where relevant, its reviewer. Sources are cited inline or linked at the end.
AI-assisted content review
Some drafts are prepared with AI assistance for structure, translation, or first-pass summarisation. Every AI-assisted piece is reviewed by a human editor for factual accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and shastric fidelity before publication. AI-generated content is labelled with an "AI-assisted" badge and the reviewer's name.
Religious content verification
For content involving deity names, mantras, festival dates, muhurats, procedures, and shraddha timings, we:
- Cross-check against at least two authoritative panchangs or scriptural sources;
- Where regional traditions differ, note the differences instead of hiding them;
- For sensitive material, consult a subject-matter reviewer (pandit, temple authority, or scholar).
Corrections
If a reader spots an error we investigate promptly. When we correct a published article we:
- fix the article;
- update the "Last updated" date;
- add a short correction note at the bottom of the article for material changes.
Updates
Festival dates, temple timings, and Panchang tables are re-verified before every calendar year and re-published. Substantive articles are reviewed at least annually.
