Introduction
SanatanTools.com ("SanatanTools", "we", "us") is a devotional utility platform offering Panchang, Janam Kundli, festival calendars, mantra libraries, temple directory, Sanskrit learning, baby names, and 100+ Sanatan Dharma tools in twelve Indian languages. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the platform, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.
By using SanatanTools you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please stop using the platform.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we store your email address, an encrypted password (managed by our authentication provider), a display name, an optional avatar URL, your role, and a hashed session identifier. Signing in with Google additionally stores your name, email, and profile picture URL returned by Google.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to the Weekly Dharma Digest we store your email address, the source page you subscribed from, the subscription status, and timestamps. You can unsubscribe at any time from the footer of any newsletter.
Cookies
We use a small number of first-party cookies for session management, saved language, dark or light theme, and cookie-consent choices. See the Cookie Policy for the full list.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the platform is used and to improve accuracy of our tools. These providers may store cookies and process aggregated device, browser, city-level location, and behaviour data. IP addresses are truncated by GA4 before storage.
Search history
When you search for tools, festivals, or mantras from a signed-in account we store the query text, results shown, and timestamp so we can improve suggestions and diagnose bad results. You can clear your search history from Dashboard → Settings.
AI usage
When you use AI-assisted tools (Kundli interpretation, mantra explanations, personalised suggestions) we log the tool used, the AI provider, the model, token counts, latency, and a hash of the input for quality monitoring. We do not store your raw birth details, chat contents, or interpretations beyond what is required to display them back to you.
Saved tools, bookmarks and preferences
Signed-in users can save favourite tools, bookmark articles, and set preferences such as language, timezone, ayanamsa, chart style, and default city. These are stored against your account so they persist across devices.
Third-party services
We rely on the following processors:
- Lovable Cloud — hosting, database, authentication, and file storage.
- Google Analytics 4 — usage analytics.
- Google Search Console — search performance and indexing.
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymised heatmaps and session replay.
- Lovable AI Gateway and third-party AI providers — Kundli interpretations, mantra explanations, and content generation.
- Email delivery providers — transactional and newsletter emails.
- Payment providers — reserved for future paid features. No payment data is collected today.
Each processor operates under its own privacy policy. We share only the minimum data required for each function.
Data retention
- Account data — kept as long as your account is active.
- Analytics events — up to 26 months (GA4 default) and 90 days (Clarity).
- AI usage logs — 12 months.
- Search history — 12 months, or until you clear it.
- Newsletter records — until you unsubscribe.
Data deletion
You can delete individual items (bookmarks, search history, saved kundli charts) from your dashboard, or request full account deletion from Settings → Delete Account or by writing to us. Deletion is permanent and cascades to bookmarks, favourites, saved kundlis, search history, and streaks.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Write to us and we will respond within 30 days.
Children's privacy
SanatanTools is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.
International users
The platform is operated from India. If you access it from outside India your data may be transferred to and processed in India and in the regions used by our cloud providers.
Changes to this policy
We will revise this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced in the newsletter and, for signed-in users, in-app.
