SanatanTools helps users learn about Sanatan Dharma — its calendars, festivals, mantras, temples, philosophy, and living practice. All content is educational and informational.
Traditions vary
Sanatan Dharma is not a monolith. Practices, traditions, calendars, muhurats, mantras, deity names, festival dates, and philosophical interpretations may vary across:
- regions (North, South, East, West India, and the diaspora),
- sampradayas (Vaishnava, Shaiva, Shakta, Smarta, Sikh, and others),
- individual temples and mathas,
- kula and family traditions,
- individual scholars and gurus.
Where we know that a difference exists we try to surface it (e.g. Amanta vs Purnimanta calendar, Tamil Panchangam vs Drik Panchang). We may still miss regional nuances.
Consult trusted authorities
For important religious decisions — vratas, samskaras, muhurats for weddings and gruha pravesh, shraddha timings, dietary observance — consult your family purohit, local temple, or an authoritative living guru in your tradition. SanatanTools is a helpful reference, not a substitute.
Respectful use
